Thursday Art and Dinner Date: 🫧Bubbly🫧

Welcome my Friends, to Thursday Art and Dinner Date!

🎨For our 🎨 Art Date 🎨, today's optional prompt is Bubbly! Bugs is having a grand time in his bubble bath!

I wasn't sure if I wanted Bugs Bunny to be sipping bubbly or soaking in bubbles, I chose the latter! I drew him in my sketchbook then uploaded a photo to my graphics design tablet. I added detail and color and superimposed him on a royalty-free background image, courtesy of Pixabay.

I have to say that's something I truly miss...BUBBLE BATHS....I only have a shower in this cottage.

Last summer I purchased a portable bath tub with the intention of getting a whole house water filter installed. I have iron bacteria in my well water and though it's not toxic, the idea of sitting in orange water doesn't quite appeal to me. I use a carbon filter for drinking and cooking and it works well. Due to unexpected expenses, the plumbing will have to wait until the spring. I'm patient...I can wait for my bubble bath!

Dinner Date: Thanksgiving Feast!

I had a nice Thanksgiving, just me and the furries. I made myself quite the meal! Roasted chicken on roasted veggies, bread stuffing, chicken gravy and pumpkin pie. All from scratch!

A touch of class to the dinner table: I've made cranberry sauce from scratch before, but this lovely wiggly cranberry jelly has a hold on me!

I made a fun 2 minute slideshow of my Thanksgiving cooking fest, me having fun and dancing and the dogs and Oscar the cat if you'd like to check it out!

    1. Thanks Christine! Yes, the dinner...woof. I'm still eating leftovers, tonight I should finish them I hope! Yeah, the water...it's an issue with all the well water in this area, but the whole house filter should help out. I can't wait until the spring!!! ♥

    1. Thanks Soma! ♥ I didn't know about the portable bath either until a friend of mine sent me a link. It has a tube where you can empty it right into the shower, it's very useful...I just can't wait to use it.

  5. Rain, good for you for making yourself a lovely Thanksgiving dinner! And then there's all those wonderful leftovers for more good eating without cooking!

I had no idea there were portable bathtubs. Sounds like a perfect solution for you.

    1. Thanks Leigh! ♥ I didn't want to lament being alone you know? Holidays mean a lot to me and now it's time for me to make my own traditions as a solo gal, I'm good with that. ♥ Yes, the portable tub...I had an idea that I could bring it outside and turn it into some kind of outdoor hot tub!

  6. Wow, that is quite a feast Rain! Happy Thanksgiving indeed.

My parents had to have an entire system installed due to the iron in the water - without it, it would stain the sinks and toilets. Even with the filter system, the water has a very definitive taste.

    1. It was a great feast and it continues...probably until tonight! Oh my gosh, my sinks and toilets get stained...my shower is permanently stained orange. But the Brita filter seems to take the orange out of the drinking/cooking water. You're so right TB it does have a definitive taste and I'm not a fan of it!

  7. I used to like bubble baths for relaxation and stress relief but I can't get up and down from a tub anymore, so I haven't had one for years, alas. Showers only for me now, too. And what a scrumptious looking Thanksgiving Feast! I had a good laugh at your cranberry sauce presentation. I use the canned type too (wholeberries) but I put it in a bowl and mash it up a bit so it looks more like homemade. "Fake it 'til you make it."

    1. LOL Debra, the only way to present that cranberry jelly is straight out of the can lol...just like the meme you had, I like my cranberry sauce looking like it came out of a can of dog food lol...

    1. Hi Jeanie! Thanksgiving dinner was great! Every year I think "I want to eat this all year long"...then a week later when I'm finally finished the leftovers, I'm good for another year lol...♥

  11. That was a fun video of your T-day feast, Rain. Glad you are so happy and doing thing frim scratch seems to make the meal taste better. That pumpkin pie looks delicious😋 and it was never the holiday without the canned cranberry when I was growing up, now I prefer homemade. Our VA home had iron in the water which left a permanent orange color in the tub.

    1. Oh my gosh yes, Dorothy, my shower has a permanent orange "hue" on it lol...it's harmless, but still, can't wait to get that filter installed. Thanks! I had fun dancing around with the rolling pin lol!♥

  12. Your Bugs Bunny is always awesome and I agree ... I would love to take a Bubble Bath. Like you, I am stuck with showering for the most part ... no tub in our apartment. That is about the only thing I would complain about. And you are a brave soul cooking a many course Turkey (Chicken) dinner for just yourself. I think I would have gone out to a nice restaurant and let somebody else do the cooking :) And you have become quite proficient at making videos of yourself. Are you willing to share the secret ... how do you take your own picture while doing all of the work at the same time? I guess I am just never going to be a Techy 😝So great post and Yes! I love that you are back!!!

    1. Andrea ♥ thank you so much! I have to say, going to a restaurant is tempting and I've done it since the spring, but I'm always wishing I was back home with the dogs! It was a daylong event and I had a lot of fun cooking. My phone has a setting where you can say "cheese!" out loud and it snaps the photo, that's my little secret - that's not really MY secret! ☺☺

  16. I must say you look absolutely gorgeous. Nice spread for TG too. Ohhh I love cranberry in a can. I do make my own but there is something about that canned stuff. I looked into getting one of these portable bathtubs. I only have a shower as well. The one thing is that the water turns cold. Wonderful art and I love the bubbles.

    1. Thank you Nicole! ♥ The canned stuff...yeah, there is something about it and I refuse to make my own ever again lol...Yes, you're right about that...about the water turning cold. Maybe I need to have a pot of boiled water handy to top up the heat!!!

  17. Rain,
I saw your post in my in-box while I was on vacation. I did stop by but forgot to leave a message for you. Oh silly me!

I like your bubbly art with Bugs! Mom has a lot of iron in her water. I don't like how it leaves my skin feeling. We saw her while on vacation and her hair was orange in places, I thought she got it dyed and it was beginning to fade but she said it was the water turning her hair. She has really white hair usually. She also needs a filtration system but can't afford one. She buys bottled water for drinking. If we win the lottery, I would like to fix this problem for her.

Your meal looks absolutely delicious. Mmm, yum! I'm looking forward to our Thanksgiving meal. Do you make your stuffing from scratch? It looks as if you might. If so, do you have a recipe to share? I want to make mine this year all from scratch. Your video is so warm and charming. I loved how festive it was putting me in the mood for the holidays all the more. You're so clever! I'm fixing to watch your art tutorial in a moment but I wanted to get my thoughts down before I mess up again.

Have a good weekend, darlin'! xo
