Thursday Art and Dinner Date: November Rain

Welcome my Friends, to Thursday Art and Dinner Date!

🎨For our 🎨 Art Date 🎨, today's optional prompt is November Rain. Tweety Bird is looking a little worried about the downpour outside his window! I admit I did this one in a hurry - not my best drawing! I painted the dark rainy background with acrylics.

I drew Tweety Bird in my sketchbook then added color digitally. In the bottom photo, you can see the technique I used to make the "rainy" background. I painted my canvas with black acrylic paint, then used a toothbrush to splatter white paint across the canvas. I then took a fan brush and swept up to give it the look of rain falling.

This was my initial contribution but then, I figured I should give it a little more effort. πŸ˜‰

When I came up with the prompt last year, I suppose I had Guns N' Roses on the brain! One of their epic songs is called "November Rain". I decided to take on Slash with charcoals. I haven't worked with charcoals in years!

If you're a fan, you know this song and likely the video. It's really good!

For our dinner date, I made some goat cheese! I've been back to cheesemaking and goat cheese is a monthly regular now. I add it to pasta sauce, put it on pizza and just dive a spoon in there and enjoy. It's got a nice cream cheesy texture. Here is the recipe: Homemade Goat Cheese.

On Rain Frances Art For Kids, I'm counting down to Christmas with my latest video How To Draw A Cozy Cabin and Sleepy Dog! All of the dogs I draw for the kids channel always look a lot like Snoopy!
